The Force Commander (FC) of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Mohan Subramanian, paid his maiden working visit to the Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 10 Headquarters (HQ) in Bentiu, South Sudan on Wednesday, 16 November 2022.
The aim of the visit was to familiarize himself and gain firsthand information on GHANBATT’s operational activities after its successful insertion into the Mission Area and to familiarize and interact with troops. He was received at the GHANBATT HQ by the Commanding Officer (CO) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Prince Tandoh.
On his arrival, Lt Gen Subramanian inspected a Guard mounted in his honor and was introduced to the Key Appointment holders of the GHANBATT. He was briefed on the Operational, Administrative and Logistics matters as well as challenges facing the GHANBATT.
The brief was led by the CO, assisted by the Deputy Commanding Officer (DCO), the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) and the Military Intelligence Officer (MIO).
The FC pledged to provide all the necessary support in his capacity, to enable the GHANBATT achieve its mission in service to South Sudan. As a parting message, he encouraged everyone to contribute their part towards making an impact in bettering the lot of the people of South Sudan.
