The Commanding Officer (CO)of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 86 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Abass Atuluk and the Battalion’s Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Team have, presented an ambulance, which was refurbished by the battalion, to the Mayor of Marwahin, in the South Lebanon.
The refurbished ambulance was presented on Friday, 28 February 2020, to the community after major maintenance works were carried out on it by the GHANBATT Maintenance Team.
The ambulance, which was completely broken down, was serviced and equipped with oxygen tanks, stretcher, wheel chair, emergency kit bag and suction machine, to enhance healthcare delivery in the community, and also as part of the GHANBATT’s humanitarian support to the communities within its Area of Operational Responsibility.
The Mayor of Marwahin – Mr Mohamed Ghannam, expressed his appreciation to the CO for the gesture and their contributions towards the attainment of peace in South Lebanon.
In order to ensure continuous effective service delivery, the GHANBATT Medical Team would also provide training for personnel who would handle the ambulance.
