The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command (N/COMD) Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Francis Ofori, has congratulated Muslims in 6 Garrison for a peaceful and successful month of fasting and prayers, in the holy month of Ramadan and urged them to be each other’s keeper.
The GOC, who is also the Garrison Commander, donated to the Muslim brethren, 12 bags of Rice, 12 Boxes of Cooking Oil and a sum of GHC 500, on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), at a short ceremony held at the headquarters in Nyohini Camp, Tamale on Wednesday 5 June 2019.
Commending troops for the steadfastness and commitment to the garrison and the northern regions as a whole, Brigadier General Ofori further expressed that all Muslims in the garrison are to continue to exhibit professionalism in their duties. He prayed that the blessings from the holy fast will help maintain the peace and unity in the north.
Receiving the items on behalf of all Muslim troops of 6 Garrison, the Acting Garrison Imam Yunus Abdallah, thanked the GOC for the donation and prayed Allah to continue to bless the work of the military, especially in the Northern part of the country.
Also present at the event were the Commander Rear, Airborne Force – Major KA Adum-Atta, Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Ibrahim Anas Iliasu of Air Force Base Tamale and some Muslims drawn from the three units of 6 Garrison namely; Airforce Base Tamale, 6th Battalion and the Airborne Force.
