The 1992 Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Regular Career Course (RCC) 32 and Short Service Course (SSC) 31 has marked its twenty-seven (27) years anniversary, since commissioning, by having lunch with families of deceased intake colleagues and making a donation to them.

The lunch and presentation took place on Thursday 22nd 2019, after the group had had a Health Walk along principal streets of Burma Camp, amidst brass band music and fanfare, which ended at the Arakan Officers’ Mess.

Forty-six officer cadets of the RCC 32 and SSC 31 graduated on Friday, 14th August 1992, and they have moved on to serve Ghana on land, at sea and in the air, at the peril of their lives, in operations like the infamous conflict that rocked the Northern Region of Ghana in 1992 through to 1994.

Helicopter Pilots of the Intake have served at Command level of the Ghana Air Force Detachment in Bouake, called Ghana Aviation Unit (GHAV) of the United Nations Operations in Cote d’Ivoire (UNOCI), additionally, on the international scene, some members of the Intake from Ghana Navy and Air Force, have served and some are still serving as Defence Attaché with Ghana’s Foreign Missions abroad.

Once again most of them, having proven themselves in Liberia as part of Economic Community of West Africa States Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) Ghana Battalion 7 (GHANBATT 7), were deployed in Rwanda with UNAMIR GHANBATT 1, from February to September 1994, and it is noteworthy that, majority of the Intake officers were the nucleus of Platoon Commanders that served with ECOMOG GHANBATT 7 in Liberia.

Some members of the RCC 32 present at the Health Walk and presentation were Mr P Ako-Addunvo, Mr S Cheataa-Laryea, Colonel (Col) KK Commey, Col DD Gbedawo, Col SWK Parbey, Commodore (Cdre) GL Bessing, Group Captain (Gp Capt)  Adu-Gyamfi, Col Damian Mogeri, Col Jackson Wonje, Naval Captain Francis Nyarko, Air Commodore (Air Cdre) Nana Asante etc.

Some fallen mates of the RCC 32 are Flight Lieutenant Seth Lartey, Lieutenant Colonel Adjei, Major Gbena and three others.

The RCC 32’s motto is “UBUNTU – I am because we are – You are because we are – Together as one – You are my Brother”.
