The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Intake 11 group, have marked fifty years anniversary of their graduation from the college, with a presentation of trophies and a sponsorship to help with the administration of the academy.
The group graduated as a team of Regular Career, Short Service and Special Duty Commission (RCC, SSC and SD), on the 13th Day of December, 1969 and thus made their presentation on Friday, 13th December, 2019, at the academy, to coincide with fifty years after graduation.
“We felt it is worth celebrating the day with the staff and some representation of the cadet body, on this particular occasion, and to also make a little presentation to support the academic work”, Ambassador Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Edward Apau-Mantey, President of the year group, stated at the presentation.
The group presented some trophies to be awarded to winners of annual steeplechase competitions and offered to sponsor such winners with an amount of money, for a period of five years.
Some members of the year group who were present at the presentation were Rear Admiral (R/Adm) Sampa Nuno, Group Captain (Gp Capt) Fred Twum-Danso, Colonel (Col) Monica Andoh, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jonas Yaw Asamoah, Lieutenant Commander (Lt Cdr) Charles Tettey, Major (Maj) Beatrice Darko, Maj Sampson Okai, Squadron Leader (Sq Ldr) Daniel Larkai, and Captain (Capt) Emmanuel Coleman.
Present to receive the gifts were Brig Gen Solomon Osabutey – Commander, GMA and some staff of the college.
