In a bid to help equip medical personnel to adequately fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) – Rear Admiral (R/Adm) Moses Beick-Baffour has presented some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to the Kpeshie Medical Reception Station (MRS), at the Kpeshie Barracks, Teshie.

The items presented on Tuesday 19 May 2020, included infrared thermometer guns, protective clothing and surgical masks to be used by staff of the MRS, to help protect them from acquiring the virus, in the event that a positive case is detected at the facility.

R/Adm Beick-Baffour, in a brief remark, indicated that the items were acquired from the Forestry Commission of Ghana, through an alliance between the military college and the former, to be distributed to the medical facilities in the immediate environs of the college, with Family Health Hospital and the Kpeshie MRS, being the immediate points of medical call for students of GAFCSC.

Receiving the items, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) at the Kpeshie MRS – Dr George Agbeka, expressed delight at the gesture and thanked the Commandant GAFCSC and his staff, for recognizing the role of medical personnel in the fight against COVID-19 and contributing their quota to support government’s effort, to contain the spread of the disease in Ghana.
