The Forces Pay Regiment (FPR) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has acquired for itself artisans’ offices, as part of efforts to help the efficient job delivery of its staff.

Commissioning the newly constructed offices on Friday, 20th December, 2019, which include an Artisan General Office, MT Office, Barbering and Tailoring shops, the Acting Commanding Officer (CO) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Oswald Afotey Laryea, who assumed office on the 14th of June 2019, said it would help create a conducive atmosphere for our working staff.

Delivering his speech after the commissioning, which was part of the regiment’s 2019 West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA), Lt Col Laryea said “Now we can say that there have been a lot of improvements and projects, especially when it comes to the working environment, we needed to make more room for people, than it used to be and we have done a lot in that regard”.

“We have introduced technology to make it more convenient for our client, which is personnel of the GAF, resurfaced the vehicle access ways, successfully fenced accommodation sites to ward off encroachers, and we have made a lot of extensions and beautifications in our yard.

“A lot of personnel are going on courses to improve their working efficiency, apart from the normal military career courses, we are sending personnel to other courses to make them more efficient, and every effort would be channeled at reducing the accommodation deficit in the oncoming year”, Lt Col Laryea concluded.

Awards by the regiment to some of its staff were; Best Young Soldier – AB1 Febina, Best Male Worker – Moses Kwabla Bleboo, Best Female Worker – Cpl Shaidatu Zakaria, Best Soldier (Regimental Duties) – Sgt Leo Yankey Erzuah, Best Group – Accountant General, Best Civilian Employee – Isaac Teye and Overall Best Worker – Sgt Opoku Afriyie.
