The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) of the Ghana Navy (GN), has continued the commemoration of the Navy Diamond Anniversary celebration, by donating assorted items to the Mama Happy Life Enhancement Foundation (MAHLEF), at Bankuman, Manhean, Tema.
The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), ENC – Commodore (Cdre) James Kontoh, leading a strong team from his Command, with his Command Operations Officer (COO) – Commander Abu, on Wednesday 21st August, 2019, made the humanitarian presentation to the foundation, which focuses on helping teenage pregnant girls and provides one hundred and fifty-three (153) children with free-education (tuition, feeding, uniforms, textbooks and some accommodation).
The ENC, in addition to presenting the items to the foundation, also refurbished the kitchen, as well as present an undisclosed amount of cash to the charity, a medical check up of all members of the foundation, as well as residents of the neighbourhood amidst the provision of various tunes for the kids.
As part of activities marking the establishment of the Ghana Navy in July 29, 1959, the ENC is billed to have a Family Day event on Saturday, 24th August, 2019 at the Naval Base, Tema, and a Medical Outreach by the Navy Training Command (NAVTRAC), at Nuterkpor, Sogakope, in the Volta Region, on Wednesday, the 28th of August, 2019.
