As part of efforts to motivate troops and enhance their well-being, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Major General (Maj Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has donated a brand new 75-inches Samsung Television, to soldiers who perform guard duties at the Ministry for Defence.
The presentation which was made on the Army Commander’s behalf by the Service Financial Controller (SFC) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Michael Nkrumah, on Monday, 25th August, 2021, at the Ministry, was a gesture intended to boost the morale of soldiers performing guard duties at the Ministry, as well as help offer information, entertainment and prevent boredom for soldiers, who may not be on duty.
Lt Col Nkrumah commended the soldiers for their diligence and professionalism in providing security and protection to national assets and citizens at all times.
The Deputy Defence Minister and Member of Parliament for Atwima-Kwanwoma Constituency – Mr Kofi Amankwa-Manu, received the donation, and expressed his appreciation to Maj Gen T Oppong-Peprah for prioritizing the needs and welfare of his troops.
