The 69 Airborne Force of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), based in Tamale, has honoured the Northern Regional Commander of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Assistant Commissioner (AC) Kwesi Ahiakpor.

The honour, which was an award, is in recognition of Mr. Ahiakpor’s contribution towards crafting a unique identity for the 69 Airborne Force, with a citation accompanying the award reading ‘’FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE FOR THE CRAFTING OF A UNIQUE IDENTITY FOR THE 69 AIRBORNE FORCE’’.

The Award was presented to Commissioner Ahiakpor, during an all ranks dinner dance at Bawa Barracks in Tamale, by the Commanding Officer (CO) of the 69 Airborne Force, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Nana Awuah Darkwa, indicating the good cooperation between GAF and its sister security agency, GRA.

In attendance were, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Francis Ofori, Command Operations Officer (COO) – Colonel (Col) Lloyd Atror, Air Force Base Commander, Tamale – Group Captain (GC) Yao Cole and CO, 6th Battalion of Infantry – Lt-Col Ben Boamah Kamina.

Also gracing the occasion were Magajias and families of officers, men and women of the Airborne Force
