66 ARTY REGT AND 7 MRS LAUNCH PURPLE MONTH

Ghana Army’s 66 Artillery Regiment (66 Arty Regt) and the 7 Medical Reception Station (7MRS) , launched the 2025 edition of Purple Month – which is a mental health awareness initiative – with an endurance walk in the Ho Township.

The 12-kilometer endurance walk, held on Thursday 8 May 2025, under the theme “Mental Wellbeing, Your Health Matters”, was organized through the principal streets of Ho, to create awareness for the public and medical education for troops, Defence Civilian Staff, and their spouse.

The Commanding Officer, 66 Arty Regt – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim, in his remarks stated that, troops and Defence Civilian Staff should take their health issues seriously, and visit the 7 MRS wellness center for any help.

The clinical health psychologist at the 7 MRS – Captain Christian Gyamfi also educated troops on mental health, and encouraged all to check on their mental health status at all times.
