The 66 Artillery Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), have celebrated the Ghana Army Week with a massive clean-up exercise and a health outreach program, at the main Lorry Station, Kpenoe, Ho.
On Wednesday, the 25th of September, 2019, at Kpenoe, personnel from the 7 Medical Reception Station(MRS), virtually relocated the health station to the Kpenoe Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where over 400 members of Kpenoe and adjourning communities, were treated and supplied with medications for various conditions.
The medical team, led by the Station Medical Officer(SMO) Captain (Capt) Agyeman Duah, was welcome by the paramount chief of Kpenoe – Togbe Kotoku XI, who thanked the military Regiment for choosing his community for such benevolence, and urged the community to continue to live in peace with the military.
On his part, the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Regiment – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Bernard Baba Pantoah, said Kpenoe was chosen, as the Regiment’s part of the national celebrations, because the community hosts a facility of the Regiment, and it was therefore in order for the people of the community to benefit from such programs.
Lt Col Pantoah also urged members of the community to see the Military, and the security services in general, as friends and work with them, in other to keep the community and the Region as a whole, peaceful.
At the Ho Main Lorry station, on Saturday, 28th September, 2019, the Regiment, in collabration with the driver unions that use the station and Zoomlion, supported by all the sister Security Services in the municipality, cleaned up the main station and its environs.
The “kings of battle” climaxed the Ghana Army Week celebrations with an All Ranks Dance, at the Volta Barracks, Ho.
