The Customs Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has adjudged its Kpetoe Patrol Base Commander, Senior Revenue Officer (SRO), Mr George Enchill as the best worker in the Ho Collection Point for the year 2020.SRO, Mr Enchill earned the overall worker award, Senior Officers Category, following his revival of the Kpetoe Patrol Base, Anti Smuggling Post, which had between 2017 and 2020 recorded no revenue performance.
Within one year after assuming Command of the station (July 2020-July 2021), the unit bagged over Two Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 200,000.00) revenue.
This was disclosed in the Volta Regional capital over the weekend when the Ho Collection Point held an awards ceremony for the personnel, send off for two Officers who have retired and end of year get-together.
The Ho Sector Commander of the Customs Division of GRA, Assistant Commissioner (AC), Mr Samuel K Foli speaking at the function stated that the award scheme was instituted to motivate Officers to achieve set revenue targets.
The Commander went on that when his management team took over the sector, it identified the Kpetoe Patrol Base Anti Smuggling Post as though sensitive to Customs operation, yet very dormant hence the need to send a result oriented officer to command the station.
He continued that SRO Enchill did not fall beyond their expectations inspite of the numerous challenges, managed to turn the tide.
According to him, the leader’s proactiveness coupled with effective patrols resulted in the arrest of ten (10) uncustomed vehicles ranging from saloon cars, buses, luxurious vehicles and station wagons among a few.
These feats resulted in the estimated revenue upward adjustment to the Ho Collection Point in 2020 when SRO Enchill took charge.
