Ghana Army’s Three Battalion of Infantry (3Bn), Sunyani, has gotten a spanking new office complex, which will serve as its Battalion Headquarters, aiding in the administrative functions of the Command.
The new edifice, which is part of a package of ongoing projects of the 3 Garrison, was commissioned on Wednesday, 11th August 2021, by the Commander-In-Chief (C-In-C) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and President of the Republic of Ghana – His Excellency (HE) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The inauguration of the building, formed part of a tour by the C-In-C, of the 3 Garrison, Liberation Barracks, Sunyani (Home of 3Bn), where the construction of an Assembly Hall and a Non-Commissioned-Officers’ (NCO) accommodation, are ongoing.
The construction of the building was funded by the Government’s One Million Per Constituency Initiative, under the aegis of the Middle Belt Development Authority, with JKY Ghana Ltd, as contractor.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Bono Regional Minister – Justina Banahene, Maj Gen Opoku-Adusei (RTD), General Officer Commanding, Central Command – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Joseph Aphour, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Y Obiri-Yeboah – Commanding Officer (CO), 154 Armoured Regiment, Lt Col D Buah – CO Armour Training School and Lt Col JY Kwarteng – CO, 3Bn.
